TNR

TNR is used in the preparation of lead salts, for ignition compositions.

Product description:

  • Trade name: styphnic acid or TNR
  • Chemical name: 2,4,6-trinitro-1,3-dehydroxybenzene
  • Chemical formula: C6H3N3O8
  • EURENCO manufactures two different grades of styphnic acid determined by their melting point (MP), in accordance with MIL-T 5611 specification:
    • P Quality (or TNR Type 1): MP > 176°C
    • W Quality (or TNR Type 2): MP 170 – 176°C
