With the largest production capacity (> 70 000 tons), EURENCO has a strong experience in 2-ethylhexyl nitrate (2-EHN) production and supply in the world.
Thanks to its know-how in continuous nitration process, ecological treatment and reuse of residual acids concerning production side, as well as its excellent logistics management at its well-located plant concerning delivery side, EURENCO has strengthened its competitiveness and consolidated its leading position in 2-EHN while offering continuity and flexibility to its customers around the world seeking global procurement solutions.

2-EHN improves efficiently and economically Cetane Numbers of diesel oil. It thus offers larger flexibility to refiners to improve diesel fuel quality while maximizing refinery yields.

EHN

Indeed, through its action to raise Cetane Numbers, 2-EHN guarantees environmental advantages of High Cetane Number diesel fuels and so better auto-ignition and combustion in addition to reduced exhaust emissions.

2-EHN is thus designed to satisfy efficiently the strong trends of fuel emission reduction requirements prescribed by the announced new fuel specifications, which have been in force since 2000 and will gather strength by 2008 in Europe, North America and Asia.
With its large production capacity, EURENCO anticipates the growing need for good fuel additives offering proven technical and economical advantages in that field.

Furthermore, 2-EHN is not only used to improve the quality of diesel fuel, but also to enhance the performance of diesel engine, allowing:
- quicker cold startup,
- diminution of engine startup noise,
- reduction in engine knock and wear,
- production of lower pressures resulting in smoother performance,
- decrease or elimination of carbon build-up on injector nozzles,
- better fuel economy and engine life.
