265, NR 268), HEER, TKR 88BB, etc.
The base bleed principle consists of reducing low-pressure drag at the
base of the artillery shells through the combustion of
a propellant grain. In this way,
projectile range could be enhanced up to 30% without reduction in accuracy,
inherent in other existing range-enhancing systems.
EURENCO also provides associated ignition systems.
Thanks to its know-how and experience acquired in the field of solid
propulsion, EURENCO develops and produces a wide range of base bleed units
through pressing technology; gas generators are composite pressed solid
propellant grains, the part touching the metallic portion of the shell's
inner wall is inhibited.
