Production

Cast PBX charges are a mix of polymeric binders and granular explosives
(I-RDX®, RDX, HMX, NTO… but no TNT). The paste
is then transferred by casting in a mould or directly into the warhead,
or in the munition itself. The following step of curing leads to
a homogeneous solid, charged elastomer with an irreversible physical
state.
Choice of components depends on the better rate researched between
performance, vulnerability and cost required.

Process Innovation:
Manufacturing and processing development represents a large part of our
R&T effort as we aim at creating new market opportunities for cast
PBX technology. One of our best achievements in that realm is the invention
of a revolutionary "continuous" process (international patent)
designed to fill large quantities of smaller items like grenades, mortar,
tank, and artillery ammunition at affordable price.
With these two production lines (batch and continuous processes), EURENCO
holds a wide scope of cost-effective high-tech facilities capable of manufacturing
limited series of big warheads as well as large series of smaller ammunition
and devices.
