NTO - HNS - TATB

high explosives:
Nitrotriazolone (NTO)
The NTO and the NTO-based products are characterized by:
High energetic power,
Very low vulnerability,
High stability.

EURENCO manufactures several NTO particle sizes and further low sensitive
explosive compositions. NTO can be used in melt-cast explosives (NTO-TNT
mix): NTO-TNT composition is characterized by a lower vulnerability than
RDX-TNT and B composition, with TNT-using facilities.
NTO can also be used to produce pressed explosives with thermoplastic
binder and cast PBX charges for Insensitive Munitions.
Hexanitrostilbene (HNS)
EURENCO produces all different types of HNS from type I to type IV:
- HNS type I for initiation,
- HNS type II for oil & gas industry: A special quality of
HNS, coated with a high temperature resistant polymer, is produced.
This quality is of interest for its improved flow characteristics and
the improved mechanical stability for explosive shaped charges,
- HNS type III for nucleation of TNT,
- HNS type IV for slapper detonators
Owing to its stability at high temperature and its excellent performance,
HNS has several applications in the aerospace, ammunition and oil
& gas industries when thermal and/or vacuum stability are required:
Artillery ammunition filling: HNS is an anti-cracking additive
in TNT or TNT-RDX charges; HNS improves the fine crystalline structure
of the composition and prevents from crack formation,
Space and military pyrotechnic devices: used in cap relays, detonating
cords, transmission cords, HNS brings heat resistance, low sensibility
and high performance,
Shaped charges for oil and gas industry,
Exploding foil igniters.

Triaminotrinitrobenzene (TATB)
This powerful and very stable explosive is used for low sensitivity
munitions.
